NFL veteran coach makes a comeback hint
Vic Fangio, the former head coach of the Denver Broncos, may return to the NFL after this season.
Despite receiving interest as a defensive coordinator and head coach earlier this offseason, Fangio is taking a year off from NFL coaching.
However, if an opportunity arises before the 2023 season, he could very well return to the professional coaching ranks.
"We'll see where things stand and develop and what's available to see if I'm a good match for somebody," Fangio said, according to Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press.
Fangio has been an NFL coach since 1986, serving as defensive coordinator for the Panthers, Texans, Colts, 49ers, and Bears.
He collected a 19-30 record as head coach of the Broncos before he was fired after the 2021 season.
Earlier this offseason, the 63-year-old coach interviewed for the Jaguars' head coaching job, which ultimately went to Doug Pederson.
With his extensive experience, Fangio should have no trouble finding work next season.
