Free Fire Not Available on App Store and Google Play Store in India » icr india

Even though the weekend has arrived, many Free Fire fans in India will be unable to play their favorite game. Today, the battle royale game was removed from both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Furthermore, many gamers who previously had the game installed are complaining about social media about login troubles.

On Saturday morning (local time), the game was deleted from the App Store, and later that evening, it was withdrawn from the Google Play Store. Free Fire MAX, the game’s improved version, is also not available on the App Store, but is available on the Google Play Store at the time of writing.

The reason for the removals is unknown. At the time of writing, neither Garena nor any of Free Fire India’s official social media accounts have made a public statement on the matter. In a Facebook post, Free Fire recognized the login issues and stated that they were being investigated. Garena and Sea, Garena’s parent business, has been contacted for comment by Dot Esports.

Fans have speculated that this could be owing to an Indian ban on the game. In 2020, India’s ministry of electronics and information technology had previously prohibited many applications owing to alleged data privacy concerns. It’s unclear whether Free Fire is also being investigated by the government. The government issued a public statement when the apps were prohibited in 2020. Even then, the apps were available on the app stores for a short period before being removed. However, the ministry has yet to make such a statement today.

Stay tuned, We’ll publish more updates on the issue.
